Rigby Announces More Than $9 Million for Local Projects
April 15, 2026
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) is awarding more than $9 million in financial support for a pair of projects in the 71st Legislative District, according to state Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset).
“I was more than happy to support these two projects when approached by officials from Reade Township and Windber,” Rigby said. “These are investments in our communities and examples of responsible use of taxpayer dollars for the good of their residents.”
The Reade Township Municipal Authority, which serves more than 1,700 customers, is receiving more than $5 million for replacing waterline along Cambria Mills Road and Sportsman Club Road. In addition, a new 178,061-gallon water tank will be installed adjacent to the existing one.
The Windber Area Authority, which has customers in five municipalities surrounding Windber Borough, has been awarded nearly $4.2 million for installation of new water distribution piping as well as associated infrastructure for both distribution piping and water service connections.
PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater, and non-point source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance and economic development.
